This work is personal. As someone who rented in Portland for over a decade, I've seen firsthand how strong relationships between housing providers and residents create stable communities. Property management professionals play a key role in fostering safe, peaceful housing for all—regardless of race, color, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, national origin, marital status, familial status, source of income, or disability.
I work with large property management companies, independent landlords, and industry vendors to provide tailored training that ensures professionals at every level have the knowledge and skills they need to succeed.

About the Founder
Amy Bertrand is a property management educator, consultant, speaker, and industry leader with more than 14 years of experience spanning on-site operations, tenant screening, compliance, leadership, and training.
As Director of Training & Development at Stratum, Amy leads company-wide learning and development initiatives designed to strengthen leadership, improve operations, and equip property management professionals with the knowledge and confidence to succeed. Through Bertrand Consulting, she brings that same practical, people-centered approach to organizations and industry associations seeking training that goes beyond simply teaching the what.
Amy believes the best learning starts with the why. Whether she is breaking down complex rental regulations, facilitating a leadership workshop, or speaking about communication, resilience, and professional growth, her goal is the same: make information relatable, practical, and immediately useful. Her training combines industry experience, real-world application, and an understanding of how people learn to create experiences that inform, engage, and inspire action.
Her commitment to the multifamily industry extends beyond the classroom. Amy serves as Chair of the Multifamily NW Forms Committee and on the Multifamily NW Foundation Board. She has also been elected to serve as the National Apartment Association Education Institute's Region 7 Board Member for the 2027–2028 term. A graduate of NAAEI's Advocacy Academy, Amy is actively involved in housing advocacy and industry education at the local, state, and national levels.
Amy holds a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science and History from the University of Hawaiʻi at Hilo and a Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion certificate from Cornell University. Her combination of operational experience, education, advocacy, and industry service gives her a broad perspective on the challenges facing today's property management professionals and the people responsible for leading them through change.
Based in the Pacific Northwest, Amy founded Bertrand Consulting around three core values: Strength, Resilience, and Growth. Those values shape both her work and her approach to learning: stand firmly in what matters, navigate challenges with purpose, and never stop becoming better than you were yesterday.
Outside of work, Amy enjoys exploring the Pacific Northwest with her husband and two children.
